Description
Insufflation is a term that refers to the process of administering medication (usually powders) into the ear to treat a variety of conditions.
Usually a combination of antifungal, antibiotic, and a steroid, these powders are used to treat chronic ear conditions and infections unresolved by conventional methods. Amphotericin is the antifungal agent most commonly used, along with Chloramphenicol and Sulfanilamide (the antibiotics) and Hydrocortisone powder as an anti-inflammatory.
